Can I smoke on the balcony or patio of a non smoking room? Yes, we provide ashtrays, but every effort must be made to keep the smoke from traveling in to a non smoking guest room. There will be a fine imposed if we find there has been smoking in a non smoking room.
Balconies and patios? The ground floor rooms all have patios and the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms all have a balcony. All have comfy Adirondack style chairs to watch the sun rise over Long Lake.
Do the rooms have a fridge or microwave? ALL rooms have a fridge and microwave.
What about a coffee maker? All rooms feature a coffee maker with coffee and tea, replenished daily.
Are you CAA/AAA rated? Yes we are proud to be a 3-diamond property and 3.5 stars with Canada Select.
Are you members of the area’s Tourism Board? Yes we are proud to be members of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Nanaimo.
Where can I get breakfast? We include a continental breakfast daily for all of our guests in the lakeside café. Featuring several kinds of breads, bagels and pastries, cream cheese, oatmeal, yogurt, cereals, juices, fruit, coffee and tea. Several restaurants are nearby for a hot meal. Now featuring make your own waffles at breakfast!
Do I need to pack my hairdryer? All rooms have a hair dryer.
What about an iron? All rooms have full size iron and board.
How much does it cost to make a local call? Local calls and toll free numbers are free! A deposit or credit card is required to open the phone line in any guest room.
What is your fax number? Our fax number is 250-758-5832.
What about the parking? There is ample parking at no additional charge and plenty of room to park your RV as well!
I’d like to stay for a couple of months – do you have a monthly rate? We feature monthly rates, based on 30 days, from October to April. Weekly rates are available year round. Call us directly for policies regarding long term stays.
Do you have rooms with kitchens? We have several rooms with 2 queen size beds and a small kitchenette unit – 2 burner stove top, small fridge with freezer, and cooking utensils. 2 of our one-bedroom suites have full size fridges, 4-burner stove top, all cooking utensils, and an eating bar.
I am not arriving until very late – will someone be able to check me in? We have staff on duty 24 hours a day.
Is there any wildlife around the hotel? There is an abundance of red-wing black birds, Bald Eagles and Blue Herons. Turtles, raccoons, mink and beaver are often spotted!
Can I launch my boat? You can at the public launch at the far end of Long Lake – power boats and jet skis are permitted on Long Lake.
Do you rent jet skis? No – In the spring and summer we rent pedal boats and canoes right off of our dock.
Are there fish in the lake? Yes – you can fish but you’ll have to make arrangements for equipment and licensing yourself.
Do you have a pool? No, but we have an extra large whirlpool for our Guests to enjoy.
Do you have a sauna? Yes, a dry cedar sauna.
What about exercise equipment? We have a universal weight machine, stationary bicycle, and treadmill; plus men’s and women’s showers.
Can I swim in the lake? Yes – you must always shower thoroughly after swimming in any lake on Vancouver Island.
As you have no restaurant, what options are there for food? There are
many restaurants very close to our Inn. We offer a discount program with Ricky’s All Day Grill a short drive away & we have an inviting stock of soups, frozen meals and snacks for sale at the front desk.
How many pet friendly rooms? Are they only on the first floor? We permit medium size pets in all rooms with the exception of our honeymoon suite and our deluxe business class rooms.
Is there a charge to bring my pet? There is a non-refundable charge of $20.00 plus taxes per pet per stay; more for long-term stays.
What time is check in and check out? Check in is after 3:00pm and check out is 11:00am.
What is your cancellation policy? 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid one night’s room and tax charged to your credit card.
Do you have internet? Wireless? Cost? We have wireless internet through the rooms and meeting rooms at no cost to our Guests. Free high-speed internet business centre in lobby, available 24-hours a day.
Are there laundry or dry cleaning services? We have a coin operated washer and dryer on site. Laundry soap is available to purchase at the front desk. Dry cleaning and laundry valet service is available – picked up Monday through Friday by 9:00am and back the same day. Nominal cost.
What are the closest restaurants we would recommend? Ricky’s All Day Grill, Longwood Brew Pub and Restaurant, Haz Beans Coffee House, Zougla’s, Montana’s, Kelsey’s.
Can I have a room that faces the lake? All of our large rooms overlook Long Lake!
Do you have rooms for the physically challenged? We have two rooms equipped with a raised toilet, lowered switches, less-plush carpet, and bathtub insert seats are available. We do not feature a roll-in shower.
Do you have an elevator? We have 2 elevators – therefore all rooms are accessible to everyone.
Are your rooms accessed from inside a hallway? Our Guest rooms are all outside access for your convenience.
Do you have air conditioning? Yes, all our guest rooms and meeting rooms are individually climate controlled for your comfort.
Do you have meeting rooms? Yes, we have 3 meeting rooms and can accommodate your meeting up to 50 people theatre style. We can provide catering as well. Our meeting rooms are bright and open with balconies and windows overlooking the lake! No charge for parking for your meeting attendees.
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards such as American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We accept cash and debit card as payment but we do require all Guests to have a valid credit card to stay at the Inn on Long Lake. We regret that we cannot accept “Gift Card” style credit cards as payment.
Do you have a loyalty rewards program of any kind? Yes – we are pleased to offer our many frequent returning guests a free night’s accommodation after 6 paid nights – they do not have to be consecutive nights, and you do not have to carry another card in your wallet! Do you have a honeymoon suite or a romance package available? Yes – our Long Lake suite with king size bed and large whirlpool tub is a wonderful romantic set up for that special evening. Call us directly to make arrangements for champagne, chocolates, roses or more!
Are cots available for extra persons? Yes a limited number are available at a nominal per-night charge.
Can I rent a room and have a party for my friends and I? The Inn on Long Lake has a zero tolerance for any sort of activity that could bother other guests.
How old do I have to be to rent a room? The minimum age requirement is 25.
Can I call a guest room on your toll free number? You need to dial our switchboard at 250-758-1144 in order for us to connect you to a guest room telephone.
Do you rent movies? We have a large selection of new release and on-demand movies available 24 hours a day for a nominal fee.
Are you close to any shopping? We are moments away from the Nanaimo North Town Centre (formerly Rutherford Mall), Woodgrove Centre, Country Club Centre and Costco.
How far from downtown Nanaimo are you? Downtown is about a 15 minute drive from our North Nanaimo Inn.
How far are you from the Nanaimo Airport? The Nanaimo Airport is approximately 30 minutes drive south of our Inn.
How far are you from the BC Ferry Terminal at Departure Bay? We are approximately 10 minutes north of the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal.
How far are you from the BC Ferry Terminal at Duke Point? We are approximately 25 minutes north of the Duke Point Ferry Terminal.
How far are you from The Port Theatre? The Port Theatre is approximately 15 minutes drive south of our Inn.
How can I get to you from the float plane terminal in downtown Nanaimo? Taxi service is available to bring you north to our Inn.
Can I see all of Vancouver Island in one day? No! Vancouver Island is a very large place – it would take you 12 hours or more to drive from Victoria to the farthest Northern point. Vancouver Island is over 500 kilometers long!
Can I rent a car at your hotel? We will happily arrange car rental for you with the company of your choice.
Is there a shuttle service available to the Nanaimo Airport? Yes – we would be happy to reserve your trip for you with 24 hours notice. There is a cost for this service – from a reputable company outside of our Inn (Nanaimo Airporters).
Are there any golf courses near the Inn on Long Lake? There are no shortage of golf courses near by! The Nanaimo Golf Club is moments south of us, Winchelsea, Fairwinds Schooner Cove – are all short drives away.
Is there anywhere to swim or skate in Nanaimo? The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, Frank Crane Arena and the Ice Sheet are all a short drive from our Inn.
Are there any movie theatres near the hotel? Yes – Nanaimo North Town Centre has Galaxy Cinemas and Woodgrove Centre houses Avalon Cinemas.
Are you close to any of the Senior Residences located in North Nanaimo?We are at the opposite end of Long Lake from Berwick on the Lake, Long Lake Chateau, and the new Origin at Longwood is 5 min away.
